The Word of the Lord
Little Clara is just 2 years old, yet her parents have already given her a gift that will comfort and uplift her for a lifetime. Clara has had the 23rd Psalm placed in her heart! Listen, as this sweet child of God recites a portion of God’s Word that has brought hope and comfort to all who hear it. Notice how this toddler pretends to read from the Bible… as, no doubt, her parents often do… emulating the grownups around her. Pay close attention as Clara, in her delightful Southern accent, emphasizes those words and phrases that might have special meaning to a small child. Which of God’s Words… recited by Clara… has touched your heart today?
I’m guessing that Clara’s parents made a far better choice teaching their child the 23rd Psalm… rather than have her learn the lyrics and dance moves of a Lady Gaga song! I wonder… are we being as wise with our time, and our choices?
Your brother in Christ,
Dave

But...But... a 2-year old knowing the words to "Bad Romance" is just so cute! (just kidding.) I actually know someone who is letting their 2-year old listen and love Lady Gaga... this was definitely refreshing watching a 2-yr old read from the BIble!
ReplyDeleteMake no mistake... children ARE watching and learning. They know if you use ungodly language. They see the TV programs you watch. Our children notice the clothing we wear. They keep tabs on who smokes and who doesn't.
ReplyDeleteMight sober one up to think their child (or someone's child) is paying attention to their habits. It has been said children are like sponges... so what are they soaking up when they are with me???
God has promised that His Word will not return to Him void. Our children certainly pay attention... My mother said "Do as I say, not as I do," which wasn't really effective. But more widely, others pay attention, and 'read' us for what we believe; paraphrased as that I am the only 'Bible' for someone.
